YUKI OGATA SENSEI SEMINAR

Join us for a two-day kendo seminar with Yuki Ogata-sensei, Kyoshi 7 Dan, Champion of the 2024 Inaugural All Japan Women's 7 Dan Tournament, 3rd Place in 2025, and kantoku of Kikuchi Girls' High School. Day 1 of the seminar is open to everyone in bogu Day 2 of the seminar is for women & girls only

About the event

REGISTRATION OPENS SUNDAY, AUGUST 9 AT 9AM PST


The first 30 registered participants will be guaranteed one jigeiko with Ogata-sensei


Participant requirements:

  • Must be in bogu

  • Participants age 17 and under must have parent and head sensei signed permission form to attend (attached below)

  • All participants must sign a waiver form (attached below)

  • All participants must be in good standing with PNKF/AUSKF


Saturday, August 29th - all ages & genders

  • 10 AM - 5 PM

  • We will take a 1-hour lunch break, please bring your own lunch

  • Post-seminar dinner at 7 Seas Tacoma Taproom & Brewery, 2101 Jefferson Ave, Tacoma, WA, 98402 (it's family friendly!)


Sunday, August 30th - women & girls only

  • 9 AM - 1 PM

  • No lunch break but we will take a short break


Video recording is not permitted with the exception of participant's jigeiko with Ogata-sensei

    On July 28th, a magnitude 7.1 earthquake devastated Ogata-sensei's hometown of Kumamoto Prefecture. Thousands are without running water and electricity or have been displaced from their homes. A donation of any amount to support Ogata-sensei and those impacted is greatly appreciated. For transparency, Cascade Kendo-Kai is a 501(c)(4), therefore any donation made is not tax-deductible. Thank you for your understanding.
